Happy new year! Here’s the 5th edition of Together In Batley, your local good news newspaper.
On Saturday 3rd December we are relaunching our eBook service. eBooks and eAudiobooks will be available to download from Overdrive for free. The best part is, there are no late fees as the books automatically delete themselves after they have been on your device for three weeks!
Call into the library between 3rd – 10th December with your tablet and we can get you all set up. What’s more, if you sign up to Overdrive during this week at the library, you will be entered into a draw to win a £50 Amazon voucher!
Overdrive can be used on all iPads, Android tablets and Kindle Fire tablets. Sadly it is unavailable on the traditional e-readers such as the Kobo and the original Kindle.
On Tuesday 13th September we will be holding our very first Memory Lane café, a session aimed at providing support to dementia sufferers and their carers, as well as anyone who feels that they may be suffering from memory loss and would like some information on the kind of support they could receive.
The sessions will run on the second Tuesday of every month from 1:30pm to 3:30pm at Batley Library and will include a range of refreshments and planned activities. Our launch event on the 13th will be an introduction to the group and is designed to give you a taste of the kind of activities we have planned over the coming months.
As of the 5th September 2016, Batley Library will have some new opening times.
